In order to solve this issue follow these steps:

• Verify Spam or Junk directory of your email. If you do not find our message follow the next step.
• Login the site. After login you will be redirected to the account activation page where you can request a new activation account message.

The password should contain minimum 5 characters. We recommend that you use a strong password. A strong password will contain letters, numbers, and special symbols.

Anyone who accepts the terms and conditions of Placelook can sign up.

To sign up click on the link "Sign up" in the upper right corner of the site, otherwise you can fill up the registration form on the first page of the site. All fields of the registration form are mandatory. You have to provide us with a valid email address in order to activate your account. A confirmation message will be sent to the provided email.

Go to Profile Settings and click on Password option to change your password.

On login page you can find the “Forgot password?” link. Follow this link and the password recover instructions.

Make sure that Caps Lock is not activated when you enter the password. If you do not remember you password follow the “Forgot password?” link.

Initially, the project was launched, in a simpler form, in the Republic of Moldova (www.place.md) in July, 2008. After a couple of months we decided to create the same project for Romania and USA. Quite soon we realized that the project architecture did not allow us expand worldwide. Hence, we created a new architecture for the project. The new project, named Placelook, was designed to function for all countries of the world and was launched in the fall of 2009.

The services provided by Placelook are absolutely free. Using the hi-tech tools of Placelook has a series of benefits for different groups of users. See below the main benefits of various Placelook users.

• Common users can: freely access and post info and images on their hometowns; find friends and form social communities; set up their profiles/CVs on the net, etc.
• Institutions and companies can: promote their business by posting info and/or images on their activities, services, and products; get feedback on their services and/or products from their clients, find new customers, etc.
• NGOs and independent experts can: promote different projects and events; initiate communities’ support for different social/voluntary activities, etc.

The URL address can be changed at Security section of the Profile Settings page. The change will be immediately accepted and the old address will no longer be active. If you want to change the URL address of your public profile, do it as soon as possible than. We do not recommend changing your public profile URL later than one month after you created the Placelook account.

At Security section of the Profile Settings page you can limit the access to any element of your profile. For example: you can set your profile so that nobody can see your images, or you can allow only your friends to see them.

The profile image can be changed at Image section of the Profile Settings page.

Go to Profile Settings to change the profile info. You can find this link in the upper-right corner of the page. Basic data can be changed from Basic section of the Profile Settings page.

All messages are saved for an undefined period.

The sent message can follow tow scenarios:

• the recipient of the message will receive a notification in 5 - 35 seconds if he/she is online;
• otherwise, Placelook will notify the recipient of the message by sending him/her an email if he/she is not visiting the site for a period of X days.

You can receive messages from all Placelook members. If you want to receive messages from your friends only you can change the messages settings from the Security section of the Profile Settings page.

By default, every member of the site can send messages to any other member. At the same time, a member can allow receiving messages from friends only.

You can send messages from the profile page of the recipient. The message button appears in the upper-right corner of the profile page of a Placelook member. The button message does not appear if the member restricts this option.

A friend who you added to your friends list will actually appear on your friends list only after he/she accepts your request.
